I do offer payment plans on many of the animals I sell. Many breeders do not, but I do not do this for a living and as such I am never in desperate need to sell an animal. If there's a more expensive animal that you want, I want to help you get it without putting strain on your budget all at once.
Minimum purchase price to qualify for a payment plan in excess of one month is $500.Basically how it works is you let me know what works for you and how much time you need to complete the purchase. I'm flexible in this respect and since purchases vary so much as do people's individual situations, it's best that I not try to make a policy and expect it to fit everyone.
There are a few conditions that apply to all payment plans:
- An initial deposit will be required to hold the animals. This deposit will be 10% of the total price, or $250 whichever is less. Minimum deposit is $100.
- Once the terms of the sale have been set, they must be kept. If you say you need 3 months to complete the payment and go beyond this time period, I reserve the right to place the animal back up for sale. (Attempt to contact you will be made first if this should occur)
- The initial deposit and all payments are non refundable. Should you change your mind, or default on the payments, you lose what has been paid until that point.
- Payment plans in excess of 6 months may be charged a small additional fee to cover maintenance expenses. By this age snakes have been moved to larger cages and food expenses are increasing.
The details of your specific plan can be worked out prior to the initial deposit. I'm not hard to get along with, I just don't want to be strung along.
If you intend on paying off the balance within a month or so, no payments beyond the initial deposit are necessary. The balance can be paid in full all at once prior to shipping.
If you need a few months to complete the purchase, then monthly payments are preferred. You can decide the amount and the balance will be due prior to shipping.
I'm not going to be waiting on you to be a day late with the payment so I can take your deposit or anything. But if I don't hear anything from you for a couple of weeks beyond the payment date, I'll contact you. If you haven't responded within 5 days of that contact I'll have to find you in default and the animals will be placed up for sale again. Should you send me the balance before the animals are sold, then the transaction can still be completed.
I want to work with you to get you the animals you want, but I also want it to be understood that I can't wait indefinately while caring for the animals. I've had that happen before and with no rules in place I have no real recourse to termminate the transaction. While payments are being made, your animals will be maintained by me as if they were my own. They will be cleaned and well fed along with the rest of my collection.
